2023 Mazi MCG Rose McLaren Vale

2023 Mazi MCG Rose McLaren Vale – Lifelong friends Toby Porter and Alex Katsaros always talked about making wine together. Alex has spent over a decade working with alternative varieties in Australia and abroad, Toby has been a winemaker at internationally acclaimed d’Arenberg for over 15 years. In 2016 the dream came to fruition, with the release of the first Rosé under the Mazi label.
Fruit from these three varieties were all hand picked on the same day, crushed and juice drained off before being co-fermented in a stainless steel vat. Following a cool fermentation of the free run juice to preserve aromatics, the wine was bottled with minimal inputs to retain all the key attributes of the fruit grown in the vineyard.
Fruit, perfume and texture. The resulting wine has a lovely floral scent as well as musk and Turkish delight. The palate is full yet balanced with natural acid, fine chalky tannin and carried by natural red berry and cherry flavour.
